2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 930 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 16 trips to carry that many people.

Inspiring Writerly Quote: “Write With Your Heart”

Write with your heart.

K.S. Fause

Much thanks to Colleen at Silver Threading for hosting the Writer’s Quote Wednesday event!

IMG_5804.JPG

Even though I wrote the first draft of my novel in one month (thanks to NaNoWriMo), I poured my heart into every aspect of the draft.  So much so, that I feel a sense of hollowness in my heart.  I wrote passionately and feverishly all month long; emptying the story I’ve been holding inside me for years.

Nonetheless, I’m forcing myself to take this week off to mentally prepare for writing the second draft.  That’s when I’ll rewrite with my head.

The 24th Haiku Prompt Challenge!

Badge provided by Me for this season.

Haiku Prompt Challenge Badge Winter

Haiku is simple and simply addictive. So be warned now. Once you start it’s difficult to stop. Here are two things to know:

  1. Haiku can be broken into two sentences with the middle line of the three lines being the commonly used part, meaning 1&2 and 2&3 making sentences
  2. Opposite meanings in the first and last sentences.

For a full refresher or Howto write Haiku in English clickhere. But you can use whatever Haiku style you want to. As long as you, do a Haiku.

For Tips and Guidelines refreshers click here.

If you have a Twitter and your handle has not appeared in a ReCap of a previous challenge, please let me know what it is so when I Tweet the ReCap on Sundays I may include it.

Five Free Author Gifts For Christmas.

Thank you for free downloads. I will be needing them before this year is over.

Jen's Pen Den

Oh we writers, what we don’t want for Christmas that we think would help our writer’s cause would fill a coffee cup, which is actually on the list of things writer’s think we need. Although I don’t drink coffee. Tried it the other day and about went bonkers. If I had a book idea I could have written it that day. Never try to do that, write a book in a day that is. I wrote a 40,000 word book in one day and was useless for days. I think I might have donated an organ but not sure. Actually I think I know which organ and don’t ask. I’m of the age I don’t think that organ is really all that useful any longer anyway.

Hello, I’m Ronovan and I write. I write anything and anywhere I can sneak in the door. Jenna left her door open and here…

Susurrus

Shhhhhh! Listen…..

Faith Unlocked

Inspired by the prompt for last week’s Daily Post writing challenge:

Susurrus, susurrus . . .
The whispers always follow me
The noise of the world
Tries to drown out the words,
A sea of distractions
Seeks to swallow the sound;
But I know that He whispers,
My King’s loving commands,
His Spirit prompting me, and
My hearts strings strike a chord;
His Word speaks and sings to me,
So I listen, and listen
To the eternal whispers
Speaking truth into my life.
